Epclusa was the first medicine to treat all six hepatitis C genotypes when it was licensed in 2016. It can be used by those who have or don't have cirrhosis (liver scarring). Epclusa is used to treat: persons who have never been treated for HCV before; people who have never been treated for HCV before; and people who have never been treated for HCV before (first-time treatment)

Between 89 percent and 99 percent of persons who got Epclusa in clinical trials had a persistent virologic response (SVR). The virus is no longer detectable in your body once you reach SVR.
One tablet (400 mg sofosbuvir and 100 mg velpatasvir) taken orally once a day with or without food is the suggested dosage for adults.
